The person behind your day

Meet your local host, Wendell.

Travel Cape Town is a locally hosted private-tour business based in Cape Town, South Africa. Independent guide Wendell is your personal point of contact, from discussing your plans to sharing the places that make the Cape memorable.

Our approach is built around the experience you want, not a fixed list of stops. You might be visiting South Africa for the first time, adding a few days in Cape Town to a longer holiday, or returning to explore a different side of the city.

We bring the iconic sights and the smaller details together: the Peninsula coastline, penguins near Simon’s Town, the stories of the city’s neighbourhoods and the slower pace of the Winelands. There is room to ask questions, pause for a photograph and enjoy being here.

Personal days. Local knowledge. A pace that suits you.

What matters to us

A more personal way to explore.

Private, not shared

Your day is for your party of one to six guests. We shape the route around couples, families and friends, rather than the pace of a coach tour.

Flexible, not rushed

We discuss your interests, available time and preferred pace. Weather and attraction availability can change, so the itinerary leaves room to adapt.

Local and considerate

We share context as well as views, and encourage respectful visits to local neighbourhoods, natural spaces and wildlife habitats.

Your Cape Town, your way

Comfortable days, thoughtfully arranged.

Our experiences cover the Cape Peninsula, the city and the Cape Winelands, alongside bespoke days built around your interests. Private transport and flexible pick-up planning help you spend more time enjoying the Cape and less time working out the route.

Tell us about walking preferences, children, dietary needs or particular places you want to see. We can discuss what is practical before you commit to a day.

Prices are supplied by direct enquiry. Ask for a personal quotation and confirm your route, transport, attraction arrangements, inclusions and exclusions before booking.

Plan from home. Explore with a local.

A long-haul holiday deserves clear planning. Send Wendell your dates, where you will be staying, your group size and the experiences you are most excited about. He will reply personally with ideas and availability.

There is no need to arrive with a finished itinerary. Whether you have one day or several, we can discuss how the city, Peninsula and Winelands fit into your visit without trying to do everything at once.

Before you travel

A few useful details.

  • Cape summer runs from December to February, opposite to the US and UK. Popular dates and attractions are worth planning ahead.
  • Pack layers for coastal wind and mountain weather, even when the city feels warm.
  • The Table Mountain cableway and Robben Island ferry are weather-dependent. Keep some flexibility in your plans.
  • Robben Island tickets are purchased through its official operator. We can discuss a tour day around your confirmed sailing.
  • Check current passport, visa and travel advice with official sources before travelling.
